Post 1 Job Shadow Day January 6th
I arrived to my internship at 10:00 when it opened and left at 2:00. My first day of my internship was relaxing because i know the lady who I am working with since I was ten years old. The whole time I was there she had me sweep the hair, mop, wash the towles, learn how to handle the money a little and i wached how she cuts hair. My mentors a latina lady and her names Tina. The organization im working for is a barrber shop that I been going to since I was ten. Its lacated in North Hayward by the Hayward bart. I will be cleaning, learning how to handle money at a shop and try to learn how to cut hair. I got my internship by asking Tina if i can get a internship at her work place and i explained evrything to her and then she said its ok I can get my internship here.
Post 2 First Day At My Internship January 20th
On my first day of my internship I got there at ten and Tina had me clean the towels, sweep and she showed me how to line up hair. I impressed Tina by showing her a easier way of lineing up hair instead of using a regular clippers, I used a small clipper that cut the hair faster but you have to take more time watching the hair and going slower. I need more help with asking what should I do.
At the beggining I did have some down time but then after she seen i got comfterable she had me do alot of cleaning. I have no questions for my mentor or academic seminar teacher.
Post 3 Second Day Of My Internship January 27
In a way, yes my internship is the way i thought it would be but i wish she can show me a little bit more of how to cut hair. The thing i thought that was suprising is that evryone knew Tina and new that i was working too because i heard people tell Tina, "is working with you who you told us about." But besides that its kind of how I thought it would be but i wish i can realy learn how to cut hair more.
Today when Tina was cutting hair I learned how short a one is on peoples hairs whos are pretty long and how much it doesnt cut when its real short. I hope i learn more on how to cut hair and how to fade so there wont be any lines in the hair that are noticable.
